James Ellis, P.E. is a first year graduate student at UNC Chapel Hill, studying Public Administration and City and Regional Planning. Originally from Orlando, Florida, James studied Civil Engineering at the University of Central Florida, focusing on urban infrastructure and transportation engineering. Following graduation, James worked for the United States Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Conservation Service as an Agricultural Engineer, working on nutrient reduction and water efficiency farming practices and natural disaster recovery. In 2010, James began work at UNC Energy Services as a Water Resources Engineer, designing and maintaining potable, reclaimed, and stormwater systems, as well as the university’s sanitary sewer system. James received his Professional Engineer license in April 2014.
