This interactive webinar introduced Arizona’s new 2014 online Water and Wastewater Rates Dashboard and provided information about metrics for sustainable rates and finances. Now featuring data from nearly 90% of Arizona utilities, the dashboard is a great tool to help Arizona utility managers, finance directors, council/board members and others evaluate their user rates, benchmark rates with other utilities, and determine if utility rates are encouraging conservation and covering costs of operations and capital.
This webinar was presented by theEnvironmental Finance Center at UNC Chapel Hill in partnership with the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona (WIFA) as part of WIFA's annual Water and Wastewater Residential Rates Survey project.
The webinar featured the new and enhanced Arizona Water and Wastewater Rates Dashboard that can help utilities answer questions like:
- Are our rates encouraging conservation, and how does our conservation rate structure compare with other communities?
- Do my utility's rates support the cost of operations and capital?
- What is the overall financial impact of our rates on customers in relation to my community's median household income?
