EFC staff, Stacey Isaac Berahzer led a facilitated discussion at the monthly meeting of the GAWP Stormwater Committee Meeting and Georgia Chapter of the American Water Resources Association Meeting. Christine McKay, Georgia Nonpoint Source and Stormwater Coordinator with EPA Region 4, also provided comments on perspectives of Green Infrastructure.
The session addressed how the distributed character of green infrastructure projects can be challenging for budgeting and finance professionals. The group considered how green infrastructure tends to fall somewhere between the two traditionally distinct areas of capital and operating budgets. There was a brainstorming session about potential strategies for overcoming these challenges.
