Speakers at this regional training opportunity included NCDENR Winston-Salem Regional Office staff and Rule Managers who presented on rules and regulations and processes regarding public notices, well camera and construction issues, lead and copper rule, total coliform rule, and more, as well as speakers from the Environmental Finance Center at the UNC School of Government who discussed financial management of small water systems. These presentations was followed by a 2-hour Q&A small-group roundtable session during which participants had the opportunity to ask the DENR staff and the EFC about any issues relating to topics that their water systems were dealing with.
Credit hours: this course is approved for 6.0 hours for water operators and 6.0 PDHs for Professional Engineers.
Who should attend? Anyone who owns, operators or manages a water system. Operators and owners/managers of small water systems are especially encouraged to attend (including owners of water systems in mobile home parks, subdivisions, non-profit associations, etc.). Operators of large water systems are invited to attend to learn about rules that apply to their systems.
