Christy Ihlo joined the EFC as the Deputy Director in 2021, overseeing the daily operations of the Center. She brings a diverse background including program management, monitoring and evaluation, technical report writing, spatial analysis, and international fieldwork. During her career, Christy established and directed a monitoring and evaluation department for an NGO in rural Tanzania, helped to coordinate a national multi-organization initiative that culminated in the production of The Federal Resource Management and Ecosystem Services Guidebook, and led a community conservation group with 150 members. Christy has a Master of Environmental Management degree from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Tampa.
