Anna Patterson is a Project Director at the UNC Environmental Finance Center (UNC EFC). In this role, she focuses on helping communities and utilities improve their environmental health and financial resilience. Anna believes that access to clean and affordable water, wastewater, and stormwater services is essential, and she enjoys assisting communities in increasing their capacity to provide those services to their customers.
Before working at the UNC EFC, Anna was employed at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) where she was the Director of Outreach and Education for the School of Polymer Science and Engineering.
Prior to working at USM, Anna was also previously employed as a Sr. City Planner for the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans’ Environmental Affairs department. In that role she worked primarily in stormwater. She also worked as an Associate City Planner for the City of Danville, VA. These experiences were a crucial part of her journey, shaping her understanding of local government operations and the challenges utilities face.
In her spare time, Anna likes to take walks with her husband, baby son, and two dogs. You can find her wearing clothing that she sewed herself and planning out her next quilt.
