Christy Ihlo joined the UNC Environmental Finance Center (UNC EFC) as the Deputy Director in 2021, overseeing the daily operations of the Center. She brings a diverse background, including program management, monitoring and evaluation, technical report writing, spatial analysis, and international fieldwork, which ensures she can wear many hats here at UNC EFC!

During her career, Christy established and directed a monitoring and evaluation department for an NGO in rural Tanzania, helped to coordinate a national multi-organization initiative that culminated in the production of The Federal Resource Management and Ecosystem Services Guidebook, and led a community conservation group with 150 members. When not working for UNC EFC, Christy is passionate about serving the community, enjoys taking walks in the woods, and dabbles in creating sustainable art.
