Omid Barr joined the Environmental Finance Center in 2020 as a graduate research assistant. He earned his B.S. from the University of Maryland in 2018, after which he interned with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. In 2021 he completed his master’s program at UNC, graduating with a degree in environmental public health. He now works as a full-time project director at the EFC, developing case studies on municipality success stories in the water, wastewater, and stormwater sectors. He also provides technical assistance for water and wastewater utilities that are looking to deliver affordable rates to customers and maintain financial viability in the face of much needed infrastructure improvements.
