Water and Wastewater Enterprise Funds

As part of the 91st Mississippi Municipal League Conference, Project Director Elsemarie Mullins, along with Dr. Jason Barrett from Mississippi State University, presented to elected officials.

Session Description: Municipalities of today have to navigate understanding the desires of their community
while also addressing the infrastructure requirements of their water and wastewater enterprises. Rising costs and needs for regulatory compliance force municipal officials to make financial decisions for the short and long-run viability of their enterprises. Through MSU Extension and the EFC at UNC, we will discuss the understanding of
enterprise funds and financial benchmarking while taking into account affordability challenges.
