This interactive dashboard is designed to assist utility managers and local officials with benchmarking residential water and wastewater rates against multiple attributes, including system characteristics, customer base socioeconomic conditions, and geography. This dashboard covers over 70% of water and/or wastewater utilities in the state of Iowa. This resource for utilities in Iowa is funded by the Iowa Finance Authority, an organization that creates funding programs designed to enhance the quality of life across Iowa communities, and was created in partnership with the Iowa League of Cities, an organization that provides advocacy, training and guidance to strengthen Iowa’s communities.

The Iowa Water and Wastewater Rates Dashboard allows comparison and benchmarking of water rates, financial metrics, and other system performance measures with peers, according to important factors such as system size and customer demographics.

The current dashboard displays water and wastewater rates as of January 2022 and FY2022 financial data.

Watch a recording of a webinar demonstrating the dashboard and explaining its metrics here.
